Student Based Apprenticeship Trainees

Through our structured training programs with National Food Institute (NFI) Avocare provide a safe working environment for secondary school students to learn essential warehousing and food processing skills through completing their Certificate II in Warehousing and Certificate II in Food Processing.

Students in one of our programs are mentored by the Avocare staff in which will assist to develop or enhance their ability to work as part of a team, be guided by a supervisor, work independently, communicate effectively and improve motivation and dependability.

As students with special needs our trained supervisors work one on one with each student and in some incidents with their case workers, guardians or parents to ensure the students gain the necessary support and skills to complete their traineeship.

Students are trained in the classroom and working environment both at Dandenong and Frankston.

“My passion is to ensure that these students gain appropriate skills and behaviours to secure sustainable employment” – Trish Keilty
